MIWW Producer to Crafter Contest

Make it With Wool strives to recognize our producers and all of the amazing fibers available to consumers.  This contest is intended to recognize our producers and their products through our contestants original creativity.

Producer to Crafter

The overall goal of the Make It With Wool program is to promote the use of natural fibers and wool

products.  This contest is specifically designed to help recognize the producers of these incredible fibers and products.  This contest will help to connect the fiber producers with the contestants to increase the knowledge and appreciation of this incredible industry. 


Rules and Info to know:

  • ENTRY FEE: $15 To be mailed to:

                              MIWW c/o Karen Weight

                              480 south 300 west

                              Salem, UT 84653

  • Fiber, yarn or fabric used must come directly from a producer (ideally within your state) and must be listed in your entry form.  
  • Fiber, yarn or fabric must be 60% or more natural fiber (cashmere, wool, alpaca, angora, etc.)
  • Judging will take place in 2 stages as described below.
  • Judging will be based on the construction and overall presentation of the project.
  • Entry form located below.


The Producer to Crafter contest will be held in two stages:

❖ Stage 1 will be judged on the overall presentation of the project that you have created from your fiber. Marketability will be taken into consideration during this stage. You will also be asked to submit information about the producer you acquired your fiber/fiber product from. Submit Entry Fee to address listed above.

 Entry form, and no more than 4 photos, will need to be submitted via email to the Producer to Crafter chair Katy Lente at: tiwaspeak@aol.com. (more than 4 photos will be an automatic disqualification from the contest)


❖ Stage 2 (if you are selected to be part of the top 10 from Stage 1) will be judged on the

construction of the created piece itself. The placings of the top 10 in Stage 2 will be

determined by the overall presentation and the construction used in the creation process.

 Contestants will be responsible for postage to and from the contest. Contestants must

include a return postage label in their package (failure to do so will result in an automatic

disqualification).



o Stage 3: The top 3 entries will be kept and put on display at the National Make It With

Wool contest and American Sheep Industry National Convention in Reno, Nevada in

January 2026. Entries will be mailed back after the completion of the Convention.



❖ Entry forms and pictures are due by: November 1, 2025.

❖ IF you are in the Top 10, entries must arrive by December 1, 2025.

❖ Cash prizes will be sponsored by ReSynergy and Backyard Green Films.
